Bishop Umiko D. Jones

Bishop Umiko D. Jones, Sr. is a dedicated preacher and educator who has ministered across denominations.  

He served as a leader for the Church of the Living God in Nashville from December 2020 until his move to Shreveport

in the spring of 2024. The Milwaukee native the holds degrees in Theology and Divinity and received an honorary

Doctorate of Divinity in 2001.

Notable Highlights:

• Preached first sermon at age 8
• Licensed to preach in 1984
• Ordained in 1994 and consecrated to the Episcopacy in 2007
• Authored *Words Along the Way* and contributed to *Christian Education Informer*

Community Engagement:

• Life Member of NAACP, First Vice President of Sumner County Branch
• Member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity
