To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

Glory To Him Now

Abiding in Truth

Sermon text: 1 John 2:24 –Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you will also abide in the Son and in the Father.

Propositional statement: With so much disinformation being circulated in the world it is imperative that we abide in truth.  However, abiding in truth requires that:

I. We find truth in a reliable source (v. 24a)
II. We internalize the truth that we find (v. 24b)
III. We apply the truth of what we find to our relationship with the Son and Father (v. 24c.)

Conclusion: As we move into the final stretch of the presidential race, it is imperative that we “abide in truth.”  There will be so much disinformation circulated that making sure we know what is true is imperative.  Following the biblical strategy outlined in the text will assure us the best outcome.  And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32)
