Ordination Elevation Ceremony

MESSAGE FROM PASTOR CRAIG

December 20, 2025

Good afternoon Union Family,

Today, an Ordaining Council was convened at the church to examine 5 Associate Ministers of UMBC to ensure that they possess a strong foundation in biblical teachings, exhibit a genuine calling to serve, and demonstrate theological competence suitable for recommendation to this church for ordination. The council was made up of pastors from Baptist churches which included:

• Rev. Lonnie Chipp ~ Senior Pastor of the New Mount Calvary Baptist Church Lansing MI
• Rev. Kenny Craig ~ Senior Pastor of the Union Missionary Baptist Church Lansing MI serving as Moderator of this ordaining council
• Rev. Cassandra Ford ~ Former Interim Pastor of the Friendship House of Prayer Lansing MI serving as Clerk of this ordaining council
• Rev. Jeffery Lang ~ Senior Pastor of the Friendship House of Prayer Lansing, MI
• Rev. Stan Parker ~ Senior Pastor of the Faith Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church Lansing MI
• Rev. Edward Rockett ~ Senior Pastor of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church Lansing MI
• Rev. Darius Williams ~ Senior Pastor of the 2nd Missionary Baptist Church Jackson MI

The examination process has now concluded and the deliberations among council members are complete. It is with profound joy that I take this opportunity to make the council’s report known to the church and is as follows: “Having engaged in prayerful consideration of those who have come before this convened body, we find that they have sufficiently been found competent in our assessment of their knowledge in Baptist Doctrine and Biblical literacy.

Therefore, Minister Brenda Wills, Minister Andrea Woods, Minister Letisha Holloway, Minister Hope Rollins, and Minister Chris Rollins are all recommended for ordination by this church as soon as expedient by time and pastoral call to perform such. All contemporaneous notations by the clerk have been turned over to the pastor for the official church records”

With that information in heart let us prepare to for an official ordination service to be held at Union on Sunday February 1, 2026 at 4 p.m. Save the date!!! More details to come, as we gear up for an more excellent way!
